Abstract

|
We evaluated the antinflammatory effect of 0.1% fluorometholone acetate and 0.12% prednisolone acetate in each fifty pseudophakic eyes. And. we also evaluated the intraocular pressure response and adverse side effects after instillation of two kinds of eyedrops. Each eyedrops was instilled into the eyes four times a day for two months.
The results were as follow
1. The antinflammatory effect of fluorometholone was similar to that of prednisolone. And there was not statistically significant between two groups. (p>.05).
2. There was no intraocular pressure elevation using fluorcmetholone and two patients using prednisolone showed - IOP elevation over 25 mmHg at the postoperative 2 months.
3. The most common subjective symptom was prickling sensation in both groups, and all symptoms were mild in both groups. Corneal erosion, conjuntval injection and chemosis were noted a few patients in both groups. But there was no significant differences between two groups.
